I thought Slam by Walter Myers was a pretty good story.
First of all the author describes the game with such clarity that you feel like your in the actual game, because the author tells a lot of basketball moves and the crowd screaming.
Another reason why I liked this story is because of the action and drama that goes on in Slam's life.
I felt some of his battles he had to face as well. Like the part when Slam wanted to play in a real team in his school so bad but he couldn't because his grades were low.
Finally I liked this story because of it's ending. When Slam get's in a fight with his friend Ice because he saw him dealing with crack to a girl with Ice. I think Slam did the right thing to end their friendship because anyone dealing with drugs is most likely a bad influence for you. This taught me to pick my friends wisely and if you put your heart into anything you can become successful.
I recommend this book to anyone who really likes to watch basketball, like myself, and see all the action and drama that goes on in someone's life.
